lyrics

He promised that he's always love
Even that he'd quit cigarettes for me
We moved a couple hours away from here.
But when the times got hard and the punches came fast
The cocaine flowed and the lovin' crashed.
I hear he and his new wife are doing well.

I don't believe in the devil, but I sure believe in cocaine.
Some folks don't like it,
Some can have a little fun with it
But too many of my friends it's taken away.

I moved in next door we were instant friends
She was there for me through thick and thin
I figured if there was a problem I would know.
Then all of a sudden she was moving away
I thought she was looking for a brighter day.
Turns out she'd lost everything up her nose.

I don't believe in the devil, but I sure believe in cocaine.
Some folks don't like it,
Some can have a little fun with it
But too many of my friends it's taken away.

Every addict is somebody's baby
Brother, sister, man or lady
Not just a bunch of folks that you don't know.
From family work or school or even the pew
Cocaine don't give a shit about you.
Neither does the devil, so I'm told.

I don't believe in the devil, but I sure believe in cocaine.
Some folks don't like it,
Some can have a little fun with it
But too many of my friends it's taken away.
Too many of my friends it's take away.
One more of my friends it's take away.
